Chery Auto PH posts 82% growth in May 2026

MANILA: Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) posted impressive numbers for its year-on-year growth report, with an 82-percent record as of May 2026.  

This follows the United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated (UAAGI)-led car brand’s previous sales performance report, which ran at 47.5 percent, covering the months from January to April of the current year.  

According to the local wing of the Chinese carmaker, the success of the brand stems from the brand’s growing portfolio of intelligent, electrified, and value-driven mobility solutions — as well as the increasing demand for electrified models. 

“These results reflect the growing trust and confidence that Filipino consumers place in the Chery brand,” CAP Brand Head Franz Decloedt was quoted as saying. 

“Today’s motorists are more discerning than ever and are increasingly embracing electrified mobility solutions that deliver tangible everyday benefits. As more customers experience the value, innovation, and ownership journey that Chery offers, we remain committed to providing vehicle offerings that are intelligent, comfortable, and relevant to their evolving needs. This commitment continues to drive our mission of helping more Filipinos enjoy every journey with confidence and peace of mind,” he added.

Strong May 2026 sales 

For the month of May alone, CAP sold 202 units, marking one of the company’s strongest monthly performances to date this year. 

The robust sales further boosted its year-to-date performance, with total sales reaching 762 units from January to May 2026 — equivalent to a 55.5-percent increase compared to the same period last year. 

“The market continues to present significant opportunities for brands that understand the evolving priorities of today's motorists. Our performance reflects the increasing demand for vehicles that are intelligent, efficient, safe, and practical for modern Filipino families,” UAAGI Deputy Director Joshua Sytin noted. 

“Equally important is the confidence customers place in Chery as part of the UAAGI Auto Group, backed by two decades of automotive expertise, technical service excellence, and dependable genuine parts support,” he said. 

PIMS 2026 appearance 

Following through for its customers, CAP made its appearance at the recently-held 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) earlier this month. 

The company staged the Chery Super Hybrid Hub, where visitors were able to explore its latest innovations in electrified mobility and intelligent transportation solutions. 

Among the highlights was the unveiling of the all-new Chery QEV, alongside the showcase of the Tiggo rEV. 

The brand also featured its value-packed lineup, including the Chery Tiggo Cross with exclusive PIMS price offers, the adventure-ready Tiggo Touring, and the spacious seven-seater Tiggo Grand Tour, providing Filipino motorists with a wider range of mobility options tailored to their diverse lifestyles and needs.
