Double Treat at MIAS 2016: Explore COTY & TOTY 2015 Philippines

MANILA: It is official now! The Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI) will be coming to one of the biggest automotive spectacle of the country, Manila International Auto Show 2016 whose doors will go wide from 7th to 10th April 2016. What will be on display? The winners of 2015 Car of the Year (COTY)- the Philippines and the Truck of the Year (TOTY)- Philippines.

After being acclaimed as the ultimate winner among the potent competitors, Mazda 2 sedan and Nissan NP300 Navara 2.5L 4x2 EL came out victorious bagging the respective title of Car of the Year and Truck of the Year in the Philippines. Awarded by CAGI, the cars will be on display at the show, which starts the day after tomorrow. The visitors would get a chance to witness these amazing models live at the event and would get to know the reason why these were crowned the best in the Philippines auto market.

However, there is an unfortunate news coming in from our sources that spectators won’t get a chance to witness scintillating drives from the catalog of famous automakers like Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, BMW, Isuzu and Volkswagen as they have pulled themselves back for this year’s MIAS.

Since 2004, CAGI has been rewarding the most outstanding vehicles existing in the market. A bunch of motoring journalists perform various scheduled tests according to the predetermined parameters in order to reach to the ultimate winner. The group holds pride in stating that they aren’t forced by any automotive brand or dealer and it’s a sole entity spreading awareness to the consumers about the best in the class.

Final scores are dependent on the consumer reviews, performance of the vehicle, safety features and finally the price, collectively analysis helps the panel of journalists to reach to a final decision.

Just like CAGI, a nationwide poll to search the country’s most popular automobiles is carried out by Sunshine Television called Auto Focus People’s Choice and Media’s Choice Awards, which is powered by people’s votes and media. The poll is done for the different segments in order to have a single champion of respective categories.
