Executive sedan Genesis G80 is digitally launched

MANILA: On March 30, the all-new Genesis G80 made its global digital premiere. It is the third generation of the executive sedan that boasts "a decade of mid-luxury governance."

Genesis is an international luxury automobile brand that provides  high performance, innovation, safety, and design standards. Aside from South Korea, the Genesis brand sells the G90 flagship sedan, G80 mid-luxury executive sedan, and G70 luxury sedan in markets like the Middle East, Australia, Russia, Canada, and the United States.

The Athletic Elegance design concept of the brand creates design variations through a carefully planned balance between the different attributes of its namesake. Although other Genesis models are more athletic or sleek, the G80 is defined as the core of the product range due to its ideal balance in between.

The front view reflects a classic yet sleek look, featuring elements of the Quad Lamp and Crest Grille dual-lined signature style. The two-line patterns reach past the headlamp limitations toward the taillamps and rear fenders, comprising all areas of the vehicle.

On the other hand, the rearview shows a dynamic, tapered look, which is emphasized by sloping rear Quad Lamps and decklid. The chrome enhancements at the tip of the trunk span the entire width, retaining the Genesis emblem theme. Also, the dual exhaust finishers are based on the Crest Grill style.

The platform of the G80 reflects its exclusive, third-generation, rear-wheel drive system with architecture that decreases the body and center of gravity. This is to ensure enhanced driving stability and  a fuller cabin.

The interior design of the new Genesis model reacts to the evolving circumstances, where technology and knowledge predominance is not regarded as a luxury experience.

The primary interior space of the Genesis G80 has also been enhanced. It features designated surfaces for the steering wheel and leather seating, coatings and soft-touch fabrics, and open-pore wood panel finishes.

Visibility has been improved through a decrease in thickness of the A-pillar and rearview mirror measurements. The corresponding panoramic view provides the driver with a comfortable field of vision ahead and the feeling of being free while traveling.

The sleek, thin air vents and the steering wheel can also be observed, dividing the passenger panel into the below and above the panoramic zone. The number of switches and hard buttons was purposely kept to a minimum, both for user-friendly and aesthetic considerations.

The Genesis G80 also provides a high level of convenience to drivers with a range of modern technologies. All new features are based on incorporating the G80 effortlessly with the preferences, devices, and lifestyle of its clients.

The Remote Smart Parking Assistant (RSPA) offers remote reverse parking and driver features in small spaces, as well as parallel and perpendicular parking.

The control area is fully equipped with an elegant interface suite. It also consists of an incorporated Genesis HVAC control unit, a rotary-operated digital shift dial, and a touch-and-write infotainment system.

The first-row heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system enables the driver to modify the ventilated and heated seats in the second row and the air-conditioning setting independently of the first row. The HVAC system enhances the convenience for second-row passengers.

The G80 boasts of an improved door closing, new engine compartment sound insulation, and resonant sound-decreasing wheels to assure indoor silence and low noise (NVH) levels. Furthermore, the Electronically Controlled Suspension with Road Preview feature improves driving dynamics through the reduction of road impacts using the information provided through the front camera.

Through the safety platform of the brand, the Genesis G80 applies traditional advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) as part of a brand-level commitment to passenger protection.

A total of 10 airbags include rear and front airbags and an airbag in the middle between the front seat passengers. This aids in avoiding secondary contact between passengers in a rear impact.

Through its Active Sound Design (ASD), Genesis has improved the performance of the engine through a feature on all G80 models that is equipped with gasoline engines. It has provided an extra level of versatility. The Lexicon sound system helps passengers to experience the vibrant sound effects of a concert.

The all-new Genesis G80 has been launched in the marketplace today in South Korea. It will be introduced in North America and other markets during the second half of the year.
