Ford PH head promoted to int'l market group customer service director

MANILA: Ford Motor Company has announced the appointment of PK "Uma" Umashankar as the new director of Ford Customer Service Division, International Markets Group (IMG), effective April 1.

Umashankar will handle the customer service and after-sales initiatives across Ford’s IMG region. He will be based in Bangkok, Thailand and will report directly to IMG President Dianne Craig.

In a statement, Ford ASEAN President Yukontom "Vickie" Wisadkosin said, “Uma has been instrumental in leading our business in the Philippines amid a very challenging time. Under his leadership, customers’ choices in the Ford showroom expanded with the successful launches of the Everest Sport, F-150, and all-new Ford Territory in 2020. His hands-on approach also allowed customers to enjoy improved parts availability and enhanced ownership experience supported by our dealer partners.”

Umashankar is the incumbent managing director of Ford Philippines. His replacement for the position is yet to be announced.
