Ford PH leads 4x4 pickup, small SUV segments in Q1

MANILA: Ford Philippines has once again led the 4x4 pickup and small sports utility vehicle (SUV) segments in the Philippines for the first quarter of 2021.

From January to March 2021, the Ford Ranger moved a total of 1,273 4x4 units. It was led by the Ranger Raptor with a market share of 40% in the 4x4 pickup segment.

Last month, Ford unveiled its newest addition to the 4x4 pickup segment, the Ranger FX4 Max. The new Ford pickup provides a greater off-road driving experience with the help of the Fox shocks off-road suspension and 17-inch alloy wheels with BFGoodrich all-terrain tires.

Ford Philippines also rolled out the smarter and safer Ranger lineup last February. The refreshed Ranger lineup features an upgraded design and exterior enhancements to exude a bolder and tougher stance on the road.

The Ford Territory has also led the small SUV segment with 50% market share, moving a total of 1,715 units in the first quarter of this year. The Territory was the top choice of most young professionals and small families searching for a value-packed SUV.

In terms of the overall first-quarter retail performance, Ford Philippines sold a total of 5,194 units, 33% higher than its sales figure in the same quarter last year. In March alone, sales increased by 154% year-on-year to 1,705 vehicles. Ranger was the best-selling Ford model in March, moving a total of 760 units. It was followed by the Territory with 599 units sold.
