Former TV personality now part of Toyota Santa Rosa sales team

MANILA: Former television personality Victor Basa is now part of the Toyota Santa Rosa sales team. 

In a social media post, the 2000s model, host, and actor shared that he is the newest marketing professional at the Japanese carmaker’s dealership in the sprawling city of Santa Rosa, Laguna. 

He then encouraged car buyers eyeing a Toyota vehicle to drop by the showroom and look at the newest models on display from the manufacturer, as well as check out the latest promos and offers from the dealer. 

The former personality’s post was captioned: “Welcome to Toyota Santa Rosa, this is Victor Basa your newest Marketing Professional. Drop by the showroom and have a look at our latest models and learn about our latest promos and offers.” 

In a later post, Basa wrote: “Drop by the showroom and see the cars up close and personal!” The said social media upload shared his post from his personal profile showcasing three models, namely the Toyota Yaris Cross HEV, Fortuner, Camry HEV, and Land Cruiser 300.

Here are a few notable details about the abovementioned cars: 

Toyota Yaris Cross HEV 

There is no doubt that Toyota Motor Philippines is making significant strides in electrification — and the Toyota Yaris Cross HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) is proof of its dedication to providing Filipinos with a reliable electrified ride. 

Propulsion for the crossover is a hybrid four-cylinder, in-line, 16-valve, 1.5-liter gasoline engine with intelligent variable valve timing (VVT-i) technology. The said powerplant is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). 

The said setup makes approximately 89 horsepower (hp) and 121 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. 

It gets LED illumination, a panoramic moonroof, a set of 18-inch alloy wheels shod in 215/55 highway tires, a seven-inch instrument cluster, as well as a 10.1-inch infotainment system with a six-speaker Pioneer-branded sound system, a wireless charger, and synthetic leather upholstery. 

It is priced from P1.610 million to P1.690 million.

Toyota Fortuner 

The Toyota Fortuner is a sport utility vehicle (SUV) that needs no introduction.

Looking at the range-topping GR-S grade, the nameplate is decorated with split-type LED headlamps, daytime running lights with line guides, mudguards front and back, LED taillamps, and a striking mesh-type grille with a two-tone finish and a “GR” (Gazoo Racing) badge. 

Inside is a 4.2-inch thin-film transistor instrument panel, a nine-inch infotainment system with a nine-speaker JBL-branded sound system and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a dual-zone climate system, a leather steering wheel with GR badging, as well as seats swathed with suede and leather. 

Price for the popular SUV ranges from P1.775 million to P2.656 million. 

In his post, the former TV personality noted that the Toyota Fortuner is the “family roadtrip final boss.” 

Toyota Camry HEV 

Those passionate about sedans will delight in the Toyota Camry HEV, which packs a 2.5-liter gasoline engine that generates 226 hp and 221 Nm of torque. Power distribution is facilitated by a CVT. 

Since it is an executive-level vehicle, it comes with opulent features like LED illumination, a panoramic moonroof, a set of 18-inch alloy wheels with 235/45 road tires, dual-zone air conditioning, a 12.3-inch digital meter cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with a nine-speaker JBL sound system, and leather seats.

It stickers for P2.677 million.

Toyota Land Cruiser 300 

The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is arguably the epitome of rugged, yet refined luxury. 

Noted for its reliability and overall “go-anywhere” capability, it is powered by a 3.4-liter twin-turbo diesel engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The power it generates peaks at 301 hp and has 700 Nm of pulling power. 

It has a four-wheel drive drivetrain with a center differential lock and a rear torque-sensing limited-slip differential. 

Among its top-market appointments are split-type LED headlamps with sequential turn signals, aerodynamic mud guards, roof rails, a moonroof, a set of 20-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch full-digital instrument panel, and 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with a 14-speaker JBL sound system. 

Those wanting to drive home the legendary Toyota LC will be set back some P5.773 million. 

Basa aptly describes it as a car that “arrives quietly, somehow owns the place.”
