Fuel price hike expected as month of Jun. closes

MANILA: Another barrage of fuel hikes is expected to be implemented during the week. 

Per the announcement released by the Department of Energy, the cost of gasoline could increase by P1.90 per liter, while the price of diesel could jump by P0.84 per liter. 

On the other hand, kerosene users will likely be set back by some P1.22 per liter.

On that note, there is still a likelihood for the price to drop.

The fuel price adjustments will be for the June 30-July 6 timeline. 

“Ang mga pagbabagong ito ay nakabatay sa galaw ng pandaigdigang merkado ng langis, sa gitna ng patuloy na kaganapan sa Middle East na nakakaapekto sa global supply at presyo (These changes are based on the movements of the global oil market, amid ongoing events in the Middle East that are affecting global supply and prices,” the agency wrote in a Facebook post. 

“Patuloy ang pagkilos ng Department of Energy upang mapalakas ang supply ng langis at mapangalagaan ang kapakanan ng publiko (The Department of Energy continues to take action to boost oil supply and safeguard the public's welfare),” it added.
