Geely Auto unveils Galaxy Cruiser concept SUV at Auto Shanghai 2025

MANILA: Geely Auto has revealed the tech-heavy Galaxy Cruiser concept sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai). 

Per the Chinese carmaker, the tech-focused yet robust concept model showcases Geely Auto’s vision for the future of SUVs with full-domain artificial intelligence technology at its core.

Here are some of its notable features and capabilities: 

• Multiple energy modes (pure electric, hybrid, extended range)
• Four-wheel drive drivetrain 
• Crab walking 
• On-the-spot turning
• Driving with a flat tire 
• Autonomous drifting 

Powering the Geely Galaxy Cruiser concept SUV is the brand’s Golden Short Blade Battery, which, according to the Hangzhou-headquartered marque, is fortified with exclusive patented bulletproof materials and coatings to prevent deformation, fire, or explosion. 

Further, the said prototype features what Geely describes as an “industry-first vehicle-mounted sonar and water radar,” which enables the Galaxy Cruiser to float on water for up to two hours at a cruising speed exceeding 8.5 kilometers per hour (or 4.6 knots) with a maximum wading depth of over 800 millimeters.
