MANILA: The Geely design studio in Warwickshire, UK is now known as the Lotus Tech Creative Center Limited (LTCC).

In a statement, LTCC Managing Director and Studio Head Ben Payne said, “More than just a traditional automotive design studio, the LTCC philosophy is inspired by the mindset of start-ups and creative agencies – open, progressive, and pioneering. Our vision is to nurture a culture for diverse creative minds to meet and empower each other beyond the classic automotive structures and processes.”

The LTCC is a world-class automotive design facility based in the UK’s automotive mainland, covering a full range of disciplines including design strategy, exterior and interior design, user interface and user experience design, visualization, studio engineering, digital and physical modeling, as well as, color, materials, and finish. It offers everything Lotus needs to support its growing design workstreams.
Under Payne’s leadership, the LTCC team has been developing a very desirable range of all-new electric lifestyle cars for the next generation of Lotus customers.
Together, they have refined the Lotus DNA and key concepts from more than 70 years of sports car design. The result is the Type 132, Lotus’ first-ever performance SUV, which will be followed by a four-door sports coupe (Type 133) and a smaller SUV (Type 134).
The LTCC is collaborating with Russell Carr’s design team at Hethel, which will continue to oversee Lotus’ global sports car programs. The Type 135, Lotus’ first electric sports car, is already in the works.
Lotus Design Senior Vice President and Executive Advisor Peter Horbury stated, “LTCC and Lotus Design at Hethel are now aligned as creative centers of excellence to develop and deliver the Lotus design vision. They are already collaborating closely with the other Lotus facilities around the world, such as Lotus Tech HQ in Wuhan, China, and Lotus Tech Innovation Centre in Raunheim, Germany.”
