Geely PH could showcase EX2 at 2026 MIAS

MANILA: Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) will probably showcase the EX2 subcompact all-electric hatchback at the upcoming 2026 Manila International Motor Show. The said model, after all, is already on the list of recognized electric vehicles (EV) that is maintained by the Department of Energy (DOE). 

On this note, the Geely EX2 could be well-suited for those who need to travel and drive daily within Philippine urban settings. The vehicle, after all, is small and easy to park and maneuver in local cities, where space (even on the road) can become a premium. 

With the EX2 being an EV, 2026 MIAS could also be the right time to introduce it, considering the unstable prices of fossil fuels we are experiencing right now.

Geely EX2: DOE database specs

On the DOE’s roster of recognized EV models, the Geely EX2 is listed as having two trim levels for the local market. There’s the entry-level Pro and the top-spec Max. 

Concerning powertrains, both use a single permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) sending power to their rear wheels. At maximum, this powertrain can generate up to 113 horsepower and 150 Newton-meters of torque. It also has a range of 325 kilometers from a single full charge, according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). 

Additionally, the EX2 has three selectable drive modes (economy, comfort, sport), a direct-current fast charging port (30-80 percent in 25 minutes), and a vehicle-to-load capability. 

Appearance-wise, the Geely EX2 comes in the form of a sleek hatchback with soft corners and curves. The aforementioned is combined with sharp LED headlamp clusters, some plastic cladding on the sides and wheel arches, and a black-colored roof and window pillars. 

The model also comes with LED automatic on/off function, rear fog lamps, a heated rear windshield, power-adjustable side mirrors with heating, and a follow me home function for its headlamps - among others.

Inside the all-electric Geely is a five-seater layout equipped with vegan leather upholstery, an ambient lighting system, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a manual air conditioning system, and plenty of cargo storage spaces.

This goes together with the Geely Intelligent Cockpit, which comes with the following: 

• 14.6-inch touchscreen with Flyme Auto infotainment system
• 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster
• Keyless entry and starting
• Carbitlink smartphone connectivity
• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Six-piece speaker set
• Wireless smartphone charging

Safety-wise, the model gets what you’d expect from a modern car. It also has several advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS), which include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, a 540-degree view camera, and many other active safety features. 

For now, GMP has not indicated the pricing for the EX2. For that matter, the brand also didn’t say for sure if the said model will indeed appear at 2026 MIAS.
