Geely PH inaugurates new showroom in Makati

MANILA: Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) inaugurated a new Geely dealership in Makati City today, March 26.

SGAP is the official distributor of Geely vehicles in the Philippines. Aside from Geely Makati, SGAP also handles the operations of Geely North EDSA. SGAP was established on March 2019 and was officially introduced to the public on September of the same year. SGAP is a subsidiary of Japan-based general trading company Sojitz Corporation.

Along with its local launch in 2019, Geely Philippines released its first-ever vehicle model, the Geely Coolray subcompact sports utility vehicle (SUV). The Coolray has rapidly emerged as the best-selling in its segment in 2020 until February 2021. Geely also launched two more models in the local market—the Geely Azkarra compact SUV and the Geely Okavango midsize crossover. SGAP aims to be one of the leading automotive brands in the country, providing Filipinos’ needs for the long haul.

In a report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors, Inc. (AVID), it was shown that Geely was the 10^th best-selling passenger vehicle brand in the country in 2020. According to their more recent February 2021 report, Geely climbed up to the ninth spot.

In a statement, SGAP President and Chief Executive Officer Mikihisa Takayama said, “It’s a good sign for the business that we are able to open another dealership in Makati under SGAP, following the rise of Geely’s flagship dealership in North EDSA in 2019. This is a welcome development for the business. An indicator that during this time of global struggle, our brand is being well-received by people and that we still manage to survive and thrive.”

Geely Makati is located at 2232 Don Chino Roces Avenue (formerly Pasong Tamo), Makati City. It is open every Monday to Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
