GWM to unveil at least 3 models at MIAS 2026

MANILA: GWM (Great Wall Motors) Philippines has confirmed its participation in the upcoming Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2026 and will highlight at least three models.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the three possible models that GWM Philippines will launch at the Manila International Auto SHhw?

The brand might unveil the GWM Ora 5, Haval H7, and Tank 700.
  • What are the three model's commonalities?

All three models have electrified versions.
  • As seen in the invitation that the Luxuriant-led automotive distributor sent, three differing headlights were displayed. Based on this teaser, the brand might showcase the Ora 5, Haval H7, and Tank 700.

The said guess is not far from the speculation that Zigwheels Philippines raised as all three have new energy-powered versions. In an article posted last week, the possibility that the company will unveil an electrified model was already brought up.

While GWM Philippines is still mum on their display at the time of posting, here are some notable bits about the models that we believe the company will showcase at the four-day motoring event.

    Ora 5

Based on what is available in neighboring country Thailand, the GWM Ora 5 is offered in two powertrain options: fully electric and hybrid. The former comes with an electric mill while the latter has a motor combined with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.

The battery-electric powered version comes with a 58.3-kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-ion battery while the hybrid type gets a 1.09-kWh energy bank.

In terms of output, the hybrid version provides more excitement as this can dish out as much as 220 horsepower (hp) and 476 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. However, the figures of the BEV option are not far behind, as it can deliver 201 hp and 260 Nm.

Here’s what they look like at a glance:

    • 2-liter cooling storage box
    • 25-inch digital instrument cluster
    • 6-inch infotainment system (wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay)
    • Wireless charging dock (on higher trims)

Further, the Philippine-spec GWM Ora 5 might arrive with the following driver-assistive technologies such as:

    • Adaptive cruise control
    • Front collision warning
    • Automatic emergency braking
    • Traffic sign recognition
    • Speed limit warning
    • Lane keep assist
    • Lane departure warning

    Haval H7

Meanwhile, the GWM Haval H7 is slapped with a Euro 5-rated 1.5-liter gasoline-fed hybrid mill mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission (in a two-wheel-drive configuration).

    Tank 700

Lastly, the GWM Tank 700 has a plug-in hybrid version that reportedly has a 3.0-liter V6 engine combined with electric motors. This model can do 0-100 kilometers per hour in around five seconds and can cover a little over 100 kilometers in electric-only mode.

Despite being a full-size SUV, the GWM Tank 700 has a five-seater configuration, which means that the off-roader is of premium kind.
