In markets where it is available, the BYD Sealion 7 comes in two forms: an all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant and a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) trim. The RWD trim can produce up to 308 horsepower (hp) and 380 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. In comparison, the AWD can dish out 523 hp and 690 Nm of torque.

It also has regenerative braking, a vehicle-to-load capability, and a direct-current (DC) fast-charging feature that can top it up from 10-80 percent in just 30 minutes.
Similar to many BYD nameplates, the model comes with a semi-automatic damping system for its front double wishbone and rear multi-link suspension systems. It also comes with front and rear ventilated disc brakes.
Style-wise, the BYD Sealion 7 follows the same design conventions as other nameplates bearing the Sealion designation. In fact, it has the same front fascia as the Sealion 6 DM-i, barring a more closed-off grille and a smaller lower vent.

Otherwise, the coupe-like proportions of the vehicle make it appear more like a large hatchback than an SUV. The aforementioned goes together with its sleek exterior bits, such as its flush door handles, power-folding/adjustable side mirrors, and 19-inch wheels.
Other notable exterior features of the global-spec BYD Sealion 7 include a power tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, and a dual-spoiler rear end.

Cargo aboard the model is kept in a 520-liter trunk, which can be expanded up to around 1,700 liters with the rear seats folded down. If those aren’t enough, the model also gets a 58-liter front trunk.
