MANILA: Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated (HCPI) — alongside the brand’s motorcycle arm, Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI) — has staged the One Honda Road Safety seminar at the Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) in Parañaque.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What are the Honda automobiles featured in the practical section of the safety seminar?
Featured in the practical demonstration part was the Honda City Sedan and Hatchback, Civic, BR-V, CR-V, and HR-V.Aside from the said automobiles, what other vehicles were used for the seminar?
Honda also brought its two-wheelers to the safety seminar for demonstration.According to the local subsidiary of the Japanese mobility marque, the said program (which falls in line with the company’s goal of having zero road fatalities involving Honda vehicles) was spurred by “the numerous road incidents over the past few weeks.”

On that note, Honda’s four-wheel and two-wheel divisions in the country wanted to reiterate their dedication to road safety by championing responsible driving.
“We want to promote safety, not only because it’s a CSR (corporate social responsibility) thing, but it’s also our responsibility as a manufacturer to raise awareness on safety,” Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated Department Manager for Communications Rex Decena told Zigwheels Philippines.
“Especially, in the recent weeks, it’s so sad to hear that so many accidents are happening… if these are road crashes, these are things that could have been prevented with better awareness, better information, so we really strengthened our resolve to campaign road safety,” he added.
During the said seminar, speakers from Honda’s ranks discussed the following topics:
- Safe driving and riding behavior
- Hazard prediction
- Vehicle safety technology
- Tips on preventive maintenance and common vehicle emergencies

Among members of the motoring media, the guests invited included representatives from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the City Traffic Management and Enforcement Unit of Santa Rosa Laguna, the Department of Transportation, the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group, and the University of the Philippines National Center for Transportation Studies.
Invited too were members of car clubs and motorcycle riding groups.
After the discussions, HCPI and HPI brought out their products for demonstration. Participants were encouraged to try out the suite of motorcycles and automobiles that were available for test drives in HSDC’s driving course.

Most notably, the following Honda vehicles offered joiners a first-hand experience of the Honda Sensing suite of safety technologies:

More safety campaigns in the pipeline
“Definitely, in the pipeline we are having plans to expand our safety campaign,” Decena noted.
“This is just the start of it, and we hope to expand it per sector. Because this program is more of a general approach, we have the government, the private sector… we have educators… so, we definitely want to bring this to a higher level,” he explained.
