Is Kia PH bringing in Sonet?

MANILA: Kia Philippines is set to unveil a new model soon and it seems to be the Sonet.

In a post over its official Facebook page, the Ayala-led automotive distributor shared a teaser of a vehicle in red body color that shows a familiar grille.

“You'll fall in love with just one touch. Find out more in June,” the company stated.

While Kia Philippines has yet to reveal the nameplate of the upcoming model, commenters over the post expressed belief that it would be the Sonet.

 

What is Kia Sonet

Revealed in India late last year, the Kia Sonet is a compact sport utility vehicle that has a striking resemblance to the Seltos — a badge that has been in the country for nearly half a decade.

Kia’s India-spec vehicle features a beefy look coupled with technologies that would fit the needs of tech-savvy professionals.

According to the Korean automaker, the Kia Sonet has 10 driver-assistive features that include front collision avoidance assist, lead vehicle departure alert, and lane follow assist.

In addition, the SUV is equipped with dual screen connected panel design, rear door sunshade curtain, and smartpure air purifier with virus and bacteria protection — among others.

In India, the Kia Sonet comes in gasoline and diesel powertrains mated to a six-speed (manual or automatic gearboxes or a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
