Lexus LBX showcased at 2025 TGR PH Cup final round

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines, together with Lexus Philippines, has showcased the LBX hybrid subcompact crossover at the 2025 Toyota Gazoo Racing Cup Philippines’ final round held at the Clark International Speedway. 

At the event, the public’s foremost access to the Lexus nameplate came in the form of a booth display, featuring a unit in a Bi-tone Red Spinel colorway. 

The main attraction, however, is the Lexus LBX in Bi-tone Deep Azure, which performed as the lead car for the Lexus community track day event. 

During the run, the electrified five-seater ride led several other Lexus models driven by their owners at a brisk pace. The aforementioned was made possible by the model’s relatively peppy 1.5-liter M15-A FXE hybrid engine that is capable of producing up to 134 horsepower (hp) and 120 Newton-meters of torque. Power is sent to its front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT). 

Its stability while taking on corners at CIS, on the other hand, was ensured by its front MacPherson strut and rear torsion beam suspension systems. Stopping power for the Lexus LBX is provided by front and rear disc brakes. 

Notably, the nameplate is also supported by the Intuitive Drive Force Control and the Vehicle Braking Posture Control (VBPC). Per the brand, the former can automatically adjust acceleration and deceleration depending on road type and conditions. The VBPC, meanwhile, adjusts brake force to minimize pitch and vehicle lift. 

When being utilized as a daily driver, the Lexus LBX provides safety through the following advanced driver-assist systems: 

• Pre-collision system
• Dynamic radar cruise control
• Adaptive high beams
• Lane trace assist
• Blind-spot monitoring

Inside, the Lexus LBX is equipped with smooth leather and ultrasuede seats, power-adjustable front seats, and a 60:40 split-folding rear seat. Everyone inside is kept cool by dual-zone automatic air-conditioning.
