Mitsubishi Delica Mini bags 2023-2024 Japan Car of the Year Design Award

MANILA: The Mitsubishi Delica Mini was named Design Car of the Year at the 2023-2024 Japan Car of the Year Awards.

The organizing committee has chosen the Delica Mini for Design Car of the Year as it features a cute and unique styling, which is different from Mitsubishi Motors' brand language in recent years.  It was also acknowledged for adopting the distinctive Delica design elements.

In Japan, the average monthly sales volume of the Delica Mini is more than three times more than that of its predecessor, the eK X space, demonstrating the significance of design in relation to product appeal.

The Delica Mini is a reliable and dynamic super height-wagon kei car that combines a rugged sport utility vehicle (SUV) appearance, a roomy cabin, and powerful driving capabilities.

Based on the Daily Adventure design concept, the Delica Mini features a three-dimensional Dynamic Shield front design, which embodies strength and security, and headlights with semicircular LED position lights that give it a distinguished yet amiable Delica look.

The front bumper and liftgate garnish also sport an embossed Delica emblem. The bottom sections of the front and rear bumpers are shaped like skid plates to give the impression of protection, and the wheel arches are painted glossy black to emphasize the Delica's strength as an SUV.

The Delica Mini also boasts a practical cabin that is useful for both daily use and outdoor activities, a spacious interior that provides comfort even in the rear seats, active safety features like Mi-Pilot driver assistance technology, and reliable and fun performance even on unpaved surfaces.
