  • In December, PRC established a disaster-specific fund with the goal of not only providing immediate relief but also assisting in long-term recovery. On top of the hardships of the ongoing pandemic, those who live in the aforementioned areas are still struggling to make ends meet. MMPC’s donation will be used to prepare relief packages that will be handed over to families in Surigao del Norte as they move from temporary shelters to transitional housing, which will give them better stability in their daily lives.

During the official virtual turnover, MMPC President and Chief Executive Officer Takeshi Hara stated, “MMPC would like to thank the Philippine Red Cross for giving us the opportunity to help families that were affected by Typhoon Odette. We understand the magnitude of devastation that they absorbed and Mitsubishi Motors aims to assist with their recovery. Our commitment to the Philippines goes beyond providing quality cars and vehicle service as it extends to a vision of being a medium in making the life of every Filipino better.”

PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Sen. Richard Gordon expressed his gratitude to MMPC for choosing the organization as its partner in providing relief to the victims of Typhoon Odette.

“Through your generous donation, PRC will be able to strengthen and hasten relief efforts to alleviate human suffering and uplift the dignity of the people. May we continue to be partners in helping the most vulnerable as we help them through this crisis,” Sen. Gordon said.

He also cited some achievements throughout the course of their operations, including the provision of hot meals, food and non-food products, clean and drinkable water, shelter repair kits, psychosocial assistance, clearing operations, sleeping kits, multipurpose cash grants, face masks, and medicines.
