Motorists to enjoy toll-free access at SMC expressways on X-Mas, New Year’s eves

These are the following SMC-operated thoroughfares that are covered by the yearly practice:
- Skyway System
- Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway
- South Luzon Expressway
- Southern Tagalog Arterial Road Tollway
- Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway
According to SMC, the toll waiver is intended to benefit motorists traveling late at night to reach their families during the holidays.

However, to ensure safety and security of travelers, the roads have been placed on heightened alert and necessary measures have been rolled out to manage the expected surge in traffic during the holiday period.
Since last December 20, additional patrol and security personnel have been deployed in critical areas, while emergency response teams are placed on standby to quickly clear any road obstructions, the company said.
Traffic conditions are being monitored round the clock with staff ready to coordinate with emergency responders. Tow trucks and other emergency vehicles have also been placed at strategic locations to ensure faster response to incidents.
Roadworks that may affect traffic flow have been suspended from December 20 until January 4, 2026, to help ease congestion.
Lastly, SMC Infrastructure advised motorists to plan their trips ahead, allow extra travel time and ensure sufficient balance in their Autosweep accounts to avoid delays at toll plazas.
The firm also coordinated with local government units and national agencies to help manage traffic on public roads connecting to the expressways.
