Nissan PH to launch Magnite soon?

MANILA: Nissan Philippines will likely launch the Magnite crossover soon. 

Zigwheels Philippines suspects the nameplate’s upcoming arrival after the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released homologation papers for the model. 

According to the paperwork approved by the country’s land transport bureau, the Nissan Magnite will be sold in the Philippines in two variants: VE and VL. 

Both will be fitted with a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable transmission. The three-pot mill is able to give the Nissan Magnite a top speed of 165 kilometers per hour. 

Not much is revealed when one refers to the LTO documents, but it gives us an idea of the upcoming vehicle’s size. Per the agency’s records, the crossover will have the following dimensions: 

LxWxH (in millimeters [mm>)	3,999  x 1,572 x 1,938
Wheelbase (in mm)	2,501
Ground clearance (in mm)	203

The Nissan Magnite for the Philippine market will wear 16-inch wheels shod in 195/60 series tires. 

Upon arrival, the Nissan Magnite awaits heated competition against segment staples, which include the following: 

• Toyota Raize
• Kia Sonet

For those wondering what appointments come with the Nissan Magnite, here is a quick peek at what the India-market model offers:

• New grille with two-tone finish and new floating skid plate 
• LED bi-projector headlamps with LED “Lightsaber” turn signals

Nissan Magnite at PIMS 

The Nissan Magnite has already made its debut in the Philippines via the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show. There, it was showcased alongside iconic nameplates from the Japanese carmaker including the Z Nismo and the then-camouflaged Patrol. 

Sourced from India 

The Nissan Magnite is made in India by Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Limited.

It is believed to be a crucial nameplate for Nissan right now as it is a part of its “One Car, One World Strategy.” 

To recall, Nissan already began shipping Magnite units from India earlier (February) this year.
