NLEX Corp. rolls out P200-M upgrades for SCTEX
Updates aimed at boosting overall experience of road users
MANILA: The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation has rolled out upgrades to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway costing P200 million.

Per the firm, the project includes the installation of additional closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs) and speed cameras to enhance monitoring within the expressway. In addition, its computer systems and other equipment have been modernized to improve data processing and deliver a smooth and seamless travel experience.
“The system enhancement program in SCTEX is essential not only for ensuring faster and smoother travel, but also for enforcing stricter road discipline. These upgrades will significantly improve the safety and reliability of the road network, boosting motorists’ confidence,” NLEX President and General Manager Luis Reñon was quoted saying.

Beyond the technological improvements, the tollway company also focused on infrastructure improvements and maintenance of the expressway.
The annual pavement repair program for SCTEX has begun this month, while NLEX Corporation, in partnership with SCTEX owner Bases Conversion and Development Authority, continues the repair and strengthening of the Pasig–Potrero Bridge. Routine asset maintenance activities such as tree trimming, road furniture and signage repair and repainting, and drainage cleaning are also ongoing,” the company wrote in a press release.
Per NLEX Corporation, the said initiatives demonstrate the company’s commitment to improving its services and ensuring safer, more convenient travel for motorists.
