Porsche plans that more than 80% of its new models will be electric by 2030.After the success of its first fully-electric model the Taycan, Porsche wants to boost its electric offensive.
"The Taycan is 100 percent a Porsche and inspires all kinds of people – existing and new customers, experts and the trade media," Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche Oliver Blume stated.
"We are stepping up our electric offensive with another model: By the middle of the decade, we want to offer our mid-engine 718 sports car exclusively in an all-electric form," he announced.
Porsche intends to become carbon-neutral by 2030, with Blume stating: "In 2025, half of all new Porsche sales are expected to come from the sale of electric vehicles... all-electric or plug-in hybrid."

More than 80% of the car marque's products should be electrified by 2030, he added.
To achieve these goals, Porsche is investing in premium charging stations together with partners as well as for its own charging infrastructure.
Other investments of the brand have been placed in battery systems and module production. In the newly founded Cellforce Group, high-performance battery cells are being developed, which are expected to be ready for series production by 2024.
In 2021, almost 40% of new Porsche vehicles delivered in Europe were plug-in hybrids or fully electric models.
Last year, delivery figures for the Taycan reached 41,296 — overtaking the 911 with 38,464 units sold.

At the same time, Porsche delivered 301,915 vehicles to customers worldwide, exceeding the 272,162 deliveries made the previous year. The best-selling models were the Macan (88,362) and the Cayenne (83,071).
Once again, Porsche's biggest market was China with almost 96,000 deliveries. That is an increase of 8% compared to 2020 figures.
In the United States, the number of deliveries rose by an impressive 22% to more than 70,000 units.
A positive development was also observed in Europe, Porsche noted. In Germany alone, new vehicle deliveries rose by 9% to almost 29,000 units.
In a release, Porsche said it reached a new "all-time high" in both sales revenue and operating profit.

Sales in 2021 were €33.1 billion, representing growth of 15 percent compared to the previous year's sales: €28.7 billion. Operating profit was €5.3 billion, exceeding the previous year's figure by €1.1 billion (plus 27%).
The car marque boasted that it was able to achieve all of the above despite the semiconductor shortage.
However, the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict has affected supply chains for Porsche plants, which means that on-schedule production is no longer possible in some cases.
