One-off Sally Carrera-inspired Porsche 911 to go under the hammer for Ukraine relief

MANILA: Porsche and Pixar Animation Studios are working on a single-example 992 Porsche 911 inspired by Sally Carrera from the Pixar film Cars.

Once finished, the Sally Carrera-inspired 911 will be auctioned off through classic and luxury car auctions company RM Sotheby’s. 

The proceeds for the sale from the 992 Sally Carrera aim to help the girls and young women through Girls, Inc, the USA for UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency), and to provide aid to children and their families affected by the conflict in Ukraine.

In Cars, the character Sally Carrera takes the form of a 2002 Porsche 911. Sally moves from California to the fictional town of Radiator Springs, and acted as the town's lawyer while pushing the forgotten town to be remembered by travelers and the public again. 

Based on the design sketches from Porsche, the 992 Carrera will be finished in a light blue color and silver rear Carrera badge similar to the movie character's, and blue accents in the predominately white interior, among other design cues. 

A team from Pixar, Style Porsche in Weissach, and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in Stuttgart, Germany have been working together to create the 992 Sally Carrera. 

“We are... going to build a brand new, street-legal Porsche 911 inspired by... Sally Carrera. Only one will ever be made," Creative Director of Franchise at Pixar Jay Ward said. 

"It will be auctioned with all proceeds specifically aimed to help children, supporting education programs for young girls in the US through Girls, Inc. and refugee families fleeing Ukraine, predominately women and children,” he added.
