Suzuki Fronx gets green light from LTO

MANILA: The Suzuki Fronx has been given the green light by the Land Transportation Office (LTO). 

Based on the documents released by the agency, Suzuki Philippines Incorporated’s newest crossover has earned the LTO’s approval and will likely have its official launch in the country soon. 

Per the homologation papers, it will pack a familiar system in the form of a four-pot 1.5-liter gasoline engine, likely sporting the marque’s automated manual transmission, aka Auto Gear Shift (AGS). 

It was not mentioned in the paperwork whether the Suzuki Fronx powertrain will use the brand’s mild-hybrid system. But with the company slowly filling its lineup with electrified powerplants, it’s highly possible that it will have a similar setup as the below models: 

• Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid 
• Suzuki XL7 Hybrid 
• Suzuki Dzire Hybrid 

PH-market Suzuki Fronx specifications 

The Suzuki Fronx for the Philippine market will have a 1,462 cubic-centimeter gasoline engine that has a top speed of 175 kilometers per hour.

According to the homologation documents, the upcoming Suzuki Fronx has seating for five and has a set of 16-inch wheels with 196/60 tires. 

To recall, the Suzuki Fronx was previewed local during the company’s Matsuri event last June.
