Toyota PH restarts Laguna plant, most dealerships

MANILA: After the temporary shutdown of production in compliance with the government-enforced enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) measures, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) officially restarted its operations in its Santa Rosa, Laguna facility last May 18.

Moreover, 66 out of the 70 Toyota dealerships nationwide have reopened as of May 20, with sanitation and safety protocols in place. Service centers, which include Toyota Negros Occidental, Toyota Davao Body and Paint Center, Toyota North EDSA, Toyota Shaw, and Toyota Alabang, have also resumed operations.

TMP recognizes the need to reopen its business to boost the recovery of the country’s economy, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before the resumption of operations, preventive measures were enacted in the facility to guarantee adherence to production guidelines and the safety of workers. All team members who were asked to report on site have undergone briefing regarding safety and health protocols and regulations that will be strictly implemented in each facility. Under the government-mandated modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) measures, the entire workforce on a single-shift operation regularly in the facilities, dealerships, and service centers of TMP will only be within the 50% limit capacity.

As facility operations have resumed and the community quarantine guidelines in more areas in the Philippines have been eased, Toyota commits to more efficient response to the needs and demands of its valued customers. Since social distancing measures are enforced in the showrooms and other facilities, customers are urged to book their appointments online before going to their nearest dealer outlets.
