Toyota electrified vehicles in PH
In the Philippines, Toyota has several electrified models on sale, including a mix of HEVs and BEVs, catering to the needs of various motorists.
For those who are not yet sold about switching fully to electric mobility, the nameplates Toyota Yaris Cross, Corolla Cross, Ativ, RAV4, Camry, Zenix, Corolla Altis, and Alphard offer a taste of electrification without having to fully commit to using electric propulsion.
Meanwhile, motorists who are more than willing to embrace electric mobility can go with either the Toyota Urban Cruiser or the bZ4X.
“Toyota’s multi-pathway strategy – built on the principle that a mix of powertrain technologies rather than one can address the diverse mobility needs of Filipinos – aims to deliver solutions suited to the country’s road conditions, infrastructure readiness, and customer usage patterns,” Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) wrote in a press release.
“This broader strategy also reflects the growing need to address the environmental impact of the country’s transport sector. As the sector remains a major contributor to greenhouse gases, wider adoption of electrified vehicles is seen as an important step toward reducing overall emissions and managing the pressures associated with growing mobility demand,” it added.
This reflects TMP President Masando Hashimoto’s statement, which pertains to the carbon reduction goals of both the firm and the government that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 75 percent by 2030.
“Today, Philippine customers can choose from four vehicle types — gasoline, diesel, hybrid electric, and battery electric — to be their mobility partner, according to their lifestyle and location,” the TMP leader commented.
