Upcoming Kia Stinger: What to expect?

We are pretty excited about the upcoming 2019 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) as it is a huge platform that allows brands from all over the world to showcase their latest and future products. We won’t be surprised if some companies use this auto show to launch a few of their offerings.

The list of car manufacturers who are going to be present at the event is quite long. Kia is one of them, and we’re looking forward to seeing its new car/s that might find a way into the Philippines. It’s also being said that Kia Stinger is one of the cars that has secured a spot in the show.

Kia Stinger is quite a popular car overseas. It’s one of the best products of the company. There’s no official statement from Kia as of now regarding whether the Stinger would be made available in our country or not, but if it does, here is what you can expect.

Gorgeous looks

We already like the way Kia design its vehicles. The Stinger is a mixed bag of all that exquisite design elements and more. You’d be able to identify it as a Kia by looking at the unique front grille.

In fact, the grille on the Stinger has been tweaked a bit to make it even better looking. The shape of the grille remains the same, but its boundary is given a chrome treatment. There is also a dotted pattern inside the grille that adds a bit of premium-ness.

We are expecting to see full LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. The design of the headlamps would be pretty sleek and would gel perfectly with the overall low-slung stance of the car. The front bumper would carry some chrome treatment as well. And it would also have sporty air-intakes on either side.

The side profile of the upcoming Kia Stinger would be very sporty and sleek thanks to the gorgeous alloy wheels and window design. There is some chrome around the windows as well. We also like the stretched-out appearance of the car when looked from the side.

Coming to the rear end, the LED tail lights would act as a signature element of the car. There would be a boot lid integrated rear spoiler, a large sporty bumper, and quad exhaust pipes emerging from under.

Interior

As of now, there are no official Kia Stinger specs released by the company, however, with the kind of impression it has given from its looks, we are expecting the interior to be no less. The cabin theme is most likely going to be black for the added sportiness ambience. There might be some silver or chrome elements here and there to keep things elegant and premium.

The seats would be electrically adjustable and offer ventilation as well, at least the front two would. They would also be wrapped in leather and so would the steering wheel. Talking about the steering wheel, it would have three spokes with mounted controls.

The instrument cluster in the Kia Stinger would have a conventional layout. Chances of getting a fully digital unit are pretty low. However, there would definitely be a touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options like AUX, USB, Bluetooth, etc. We would like to see Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support as well.

Engine

We are still wondering what would power the new Stinger. The model available in the US has got two engine options - a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 255 hp and 353 Nm and a 3.3-liter twin turbo unit that churns out 365 hp and 510 Nm. If you ask us, we would obviously want to have the more powerful option any day, but let’s see what Kia has got in its mind.

Kia already showcased the Stinger at the 2019 Bangkok International Motor Show which concluded a few days ago. Now, it’s time for the Filipinos to get to see the new car in flesh. Apart from the Stinger, it’s being said that Kia would also showcase the Grand Carnival, Sportage, Sorento, Soluto, and Picanto.
