Updated MyMazda app will text you if your EV needs charging
MANILA: Mazda is set to enhance the MyMazda app with Connected Services later this year which means that when the brand’s first EV (electric vehicle), the MX-30, arrives in 2021, it will be able to text you if it needs to be charged.
Connected Services will be initially available in Europe and further remove barriers of communication between the car and driver to provide a truly seamless ownership.
The update adds functions that are EV-centric like notifying the driver to plug in the charging cable, control charging using a timer, and monitor the charging progress and range indicator.
It also allows the driver to remote-control air-conditioning settings like cabin temperature, turn windscreen ventilation on or off, adjust rear screen heating, pre-cool the vehicle, and even door locking and vehicle finder.
Both iOS and Android users will be able to download their respective versions of the MyMazda app and will even allow users to choose three destinations and share these locations with the vehicle’s navigation system.
Other functionalities include accessing real-time vehicle information, roadside assistance, service history and service request, and even locating the nearest charging station.
