VinFast launches 'PiliPinas' to let them choose future car designs

MANILA: VinFast Philippines has introduced the “PiliPinas Your Vote, Your Design for the Future Filipino Drive” - a program that will allow the public to choose the interior and exterior design of the brand’s next-generation cars. 

The aforementioned is similar to the “Your Voice, Our Future” initiative that was launched this month in Indonesia. The said program, which is now active in the local market, has similar mechanics: a gallery of design concepts provided by VinFast’s experts is voted on by the public on a dedicated website. Additionally, participants may also cast predictions on how many votes the winning design concept will receive.

Paper ballots indicating one’s desired design can also be sent by snail mail or turned in at official drop-off points nationwide. 

Per the Vietnamese brand’s local arm, the models that will have their styling influenced by this new initiative include the following:

• VF 5
• VF 6
• VF 7
• VF 9

Apart from having the chance to influence the design direction of the brand’s future versions of its all-electric lineup, plenty of prizes are also up for grabs. 

Three grand prizes of P150,000 each will be awarded to those who can correctly predict the top-ranked designs and provide the most accurate guess for a given design’s number of votes.

Prizes, ranging from P40,000-P80,000, meanwhile, will be awarded to those who managed to identify the most popular design for each nameplate. 

Moreover, the event will also hold a raffle draw with prizes worth P10,000 each. All eligible voters in the “PiliPinas Your Vote, Your Design for the Future Filipino Drive” will be automatically entered in this raffle draw. 

VinFast Philippines will also award people who can come up with their own vehicle designs. Winners of prizes of up to P15,000 will be picked randomly from participants who have submitted their own design proposals. 

As the brand shared, these submitted designs may be used as a source of inspiration and ideas by its in-house group of artists and engineers. And of course, these publicly-sourced car designs will be moderated. 

“Symbolic of how we will rewrite the rules in the automotive industry, we are launching PiliPinas,” Chief Executive Officer of VinFast Southeast Asia Antonio Zara said. 

“This is to celebrate the creativity of Filipinos and empower them to choose the design of their future cars,” Zara added.
