Which model did Mitsubishi Fuso use to showcase the Cobodi system?
Mitsubishi Fuso used the eCanter S to showcase the Cobodi System. Why did Mitsubishi Fuso develop the Cobodi system?
Mitsubishi Fuso developed the Cobodi system as a possible method to provide clients with a logistics organization that can keep cargo safe and make last-mile delivery operations more efficient. The Cobodi is touted by the Japanese truck specialist as a “next-generation logistics solution” that can make last-mile delivery services more efficient and less taxing on workers. Further, the systems' inherent design might also help protect cargo integrity.
Regarding how the Cobodi operates, it uses a series of mechanical “racks” with adjustable shelving, varying weight capacities, and storage space capacities. Each rack unit also comes with a wheeled base for easier transport, and they can be accessed from the sides of the Cobodi-equipped truck via individual sliding doors. To prevent them from moving inside the truck, each Cobodi rack is secured by a “track” that locks its wheels in place.

Otherwise, they are also integrated with an artificial-intelligence-powered software that is capable of automatically identifying individual parcels in a truck and then providing an optimized route for the driver to follow.

The eCanter is now sold in other regions like Japan and Hong Kong, but Fuso has yet to share any plans as to when the Cobodi system will enter production.
