YGC's HI boosts car business by expanding service offers, adding Geely Manila

MANILA: House of Investments (HI), a member of the Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC), is boosting its car business by adding Geely Manila into is dealership network.

The HI Cars Division, collectively known as YGC Cars, currently manages seven dealerships including Honda in Quezon City, Manila, Greenhills, and Tandang Sora (service center); and Isuzu in Manila, Commonwealth, and Leyte. Geely Manila is expected to start its operations this month.

In a statement, HI Senior Vice President and Car Business Operations Head Johnny Fetalvero said, “We saw a significant improvement in after-sales service because of the volume of customers now concentrated in our seven dealerships. This shows that our consolidation in 2020 worked for us.” In 2020, HI recorded a 10% increase in its total car service on a per-dealer basis versus its 2019 performance.

YGC Cars has also expanded its service offers by including value-added deals and packages such as body paint, mechanical repairs, car disinfection, and battery checkup and analysis. The dealerships have also implemented upgraded techniques on certain services such as aircon flushing and laser guided tire alignment. They also offer 24/7 emergency roadside assistance within Metro Manila.

Although movement is limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, sales personnel have managed to increase engagement with customers and banks by going to them directly. YGC Cars has also launched a home service offer wherein customers can book an appointment with a crew of mechanics who will perform preventive maintenance and repairs right at their residence.

“For now, we’re looking at a 15% improvement in terms of service for the first two quarters of this year. Hopefully, that will carry us through these new challenges,” Fetalvero added. “As part of the YGC, we’re using the conglomerate’s strength to get customer referrals and endorsements.” He also guaranteed that overall efficiency of YGC is continued in the YGC Cars’ dealership sales and customer service delivery.
