YSS Automotive Suspension officially enters PH market

MANILA: YSS Automotive Suspension has officially launched in the Philippine market. It brought in two new products- the DTG-Plus and the YSS XSport, which are both touted to improve the handling and ride comfort for pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUV).

In the local market, YSS Automotive Suspension is distributed by Gyzmo Global Business Corporation.

With regard to the Thai-based corporation, it has been around since 1983. In 2005, the corporation brought in a European research and development (R&D)  team, and later established an R&D center in the Netherlands. 

YSS Automotive Suspension also has a track record in global motorsports competitions. Examples include the Can-Am Maverick XRS Turbo, which competed in the 2023 Dakar Rally, and MTM Kawasaki Moto Port Team’s Ninja 400 in the World Supersport 300. 

For now, the company has yet to bring in its wide array of motorcycle suspensions to the Philippine market, but let’s check out its two new products for Philippine-spec pickup trucks and SUV models.

DTG-Plus

The YSS DTG-Plus is a seven-way adjustable twin-tube gas shock system designed to provide smoother damping and less bouncing motion even for heavy-set rides like SUV and pickup truck nameplates. 

According to YSS Automotive Suspension, this provides a good balance of performance and comfort that will make daily driving more engaging, at least compared to what OEM suspension systems are capable of. 

Highway runs with the DTG-Plus will likewise become safer since it helps in stabilizing SUV models and pickup trucks, which are usually top-heavy. 

Additionally, the DTG-Plus was given a corrosion-resistant coating for long-lasting durability, as well as a plug-and-play compatibility with many popular makes and models.

YSS XSport

For enthusiasts who like to squeeze out more handling from their SUV and pickup truck models, there’s the performance-oriented XSport.

Per the company, this product uses motorsport-inspired engineering. As such, it can provide vastly improved cornering, reduced body roll, and better feedback.

Its features include a spring pre-load adjuster, 12-level compression adjustability, and a separate gas reservoir tank. 

The YSS XSport lineup was developed by the company’s R&D Director Harrie Essens. As shared by the company, Essens has an extensive motorsports engineering background, which ranges from the European Rallycross Championships, the Paris-Dakar Rally, and the Indy 500 Championships. He has also helped design championship-winning vehicles in both circuit racing and rallying across Asia, America, and Europe.
