Toyota Tamaraw Food Park highlights new Food Truck trim’s capabilities

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has highlighted the capability of the Tamaraw Food Truck variant to meet the needs of mobile food retailers at the recently opened “Toyota Tamaraw Food Park” in Marikina Town Center. 

Opened in partnership between the car brand and Federal Land Incorporated, the private developer of Marikina Town Center, the Tamaraw Food Park is an outdoor food hub that hosts a number of Tamaraw Food Truck units owned and operated by a variety of food and drink businesses. 

At the said location, the examples of the aforementioned variant of the Toyota Tamaraw showed off their wing doors, which functioned as a welcoming roof for clients whenever they are deployed. Likewise visible from the outside of the Food Truck is the spacious kitchen layout, which accommodates a variety of cooking tools ranging from grills, griddles, display shelvings, and ovens - among others. 

To note, the launch of the Toyota Tamaraw Food Park coincided with the kick-off of the 2025 “Nakaka Local Food Fest Marikina,” a food-stall event that gives Marikina’s cuisine and products a chance to shine. The introduction of the said Food Park was also launched amid the grand opening of the Marikina Town Center. 

The said event will run until November 30, 2025, but the Tamaraw Food Trucks located at the Tamaraw Food Park will be there on a long-term, semi-permanent basis. 

For those who want to visit the Toyota Tamaraw Food Park, it is located in front of the Marikina Football Field along Sumulong Highway in Marikina City.

Toyota Tamaraw Food Truck: specs

As of this writing, the Toyota Tamaraw Food Truck is offered by TMP with a suggested retail price of P1.54 million. Included in the price is the variant’s Food Truck-spec body, and a five-year, or 150,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first. 

Under the hood of the Toyota Tamaraw Food Truck is a 2.4-liter inline-four turbodiesel engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. At maximum, the said mill can put out 148 horsepower and 343 Newton-meters of torque. 

For handling and optimal load-bearing capacity, the vehicle comes with a ladder-frame chassis fitted with a front IFS coil spring suspension and a leaf spring rear end.

To note, the Toyota Tamaraw rides on the Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) platform. The said platform has seen years of development and improvements, and it has been utilized by current Philippine-spec versions of the Innova, Fortuner, and Hilux. 

The most recent vehicle to be based on the IMV platform is the Toyota Land Cruiser “FJ,” which is the spiritual successor of the now-discontinued retro-styled XJ10 FJ Cruiser. The newer Toyota Land Cruiser FJ made its global debut back in October 2025.
