Ducati Panigale V4-riding racer eyes 5th straight PSBK title

MANILA: Filipino motorcycle race rider Timothy Joseph (TJ) Alberto looks to win his fifth consecutive Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK) title. 

Winning nine out of 12 races in 2024, the reigning champion has proven himself on the track. Yet, he approaches the upcoming season with a refreshed outlook, aiming to enjoy his racing more while still pushing for victories.

“I’m looking forward to the 2025 season. Having four titles under my belt has really solidified my confidence as a racer. Although I have nothing to prove and want to enjoy racing more, the competitive side of me is still there, and I’m quite motivated to fight for a fifth championship. I’m also super excited to race with my brother Troy again this year,” he said in a press release. 

Joining him is his younger sibling, Troy, who, after recovering from injuries, is eager for a fresh start. The younger Alberto now shifts his focus toward completing a full season and challenging for top results in the Overall and Pro Classes. 

“I want to make up for the mistakes I made last year and take this season with a new approach. My goal is to finish every race. I felt that I tried too hard to prove myself last year, and that led to my accident. I know within myself that I have the team, the bike, and the ability to win races or even the championship — but I don’t want to focus on that just yet. I just want to let the results come to me and see what I get,” he commented. 

Competing under the banner of Access Plus Racing, both riders use the race-proven Ducati Panigale V4 to compete in the local racing series. Their race bikes can reach top speeds of 355.9 kilometers per hour at 17,000 revolutions per minute. 

The team also partnered with Shell Advance, whose fully synthetic oils help maintain peak performance and provide protection under extreme racing conditions. 

“By God’s grace, we were able to win the championship for a fourth time last year. We hope to make it a fifth in 2025. And with Troy now fully recovered, we have him and TJ fighting at the front for Access Plus Racing. We pray for a safe, fair season and look forward to seeing our Ducati Panigale V4s dominate on track,” Access Plus Racing Team Principal Toti Alberto stated.
