Honda Neo Sports Cafe concept details released
MANILA: After releasing a couple of teasers, one a few days back, Honda has finally unwrapped its Neo Sports Cafe (NSC) concept. The retro sled machine, also known as Project N.S.C was revealed at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show whose production version is all set to make its world debut on November 6. Reflecting a minimalist approach, the concept bike features a round LED headlamp, slim as well as flowing fuel tank and a sleek tail section.
As it is a concept version, the essential features like rear number plate holder and rear view mirrors are not included but, the production version gets it as seen in the teaser video released earlier. The chassis of the Neo Sports Cafe feature fully adjustable front forks that are backed by a single-sided swingarm at the rear end. Although the silencer in the concept is small, the production version will get a relatively bigger unit with dual exhaust outlets.
The engine configuration is yet not released by the manufacturer but it is expected that the production version will be powered by a 998cc inline-four engine which is also the heart of Fireblade. It will be re-tuned for the Neo Sports Cafe for a stronger mid-range torque to complement the characteristics of a street motorcycle.
What most of the industry experts are waiting to see is how the Japanese bike manufacturer will pitch its upcoming retro styled bike. It has been observed that most of the manufacturers have targeted the youth with their bet in the respective segment but, according to speculations, Honda is eyeing on targeting matured riders with years of experience. The bike will be locking its horns against the likes of Kawasaki Z900RS and a number of reports suggest that it could be the replacement of CB1000R naked street fighter.
If this is what Honda is looking to do then we might expect the upcoming bike in the local market as well. For the moment nothing is confirmed and further details will be revealed on November 6. Stay tuned to CarBay Philippines to get the latest happening of the bike world at the earliest.
