MANILA: Ronald Galzote has been crowned as the overall champion of the Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup (HPDC) 2025 CBR150R one-make racing series

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Who is the overall champion of the 2025 Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup?

The overall champion of the 2025 Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup is Ronald Galzote.
  • What motorcycle is used for the HPDC?

All participants of the HPDC use the Honda CBR150R.
  • Galzote’s victory, however, came after thwarting stiff competition. Regardless, the young racer’s consistent podium finishes and strong pace helped him clinch the coveted HPDC title.

In Race 10, Galzote ended the run strong in first place, followed by Joharry Suba in second and Vash Travis Aguilar in third. Race 11 saw another first-place finish from Galzote, while Miguel Dizon and Eunice Mae Sta. Ana wrapped it up in second and third places, respectively. The last race’s first-place podium was claimed by Suba, followed by Galzote in second, and Aguilar in third.

    HPDC

For the unaware, the HPDC is a one-make race in which competitors use lightly modified versions of the Honda CBR150R. The said racing series is touted by Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI) as a platform for young riders to get a step inside the competitive world of two-wheeled motorsports.

But apart from being a racing series for youngsters, the HPDC is also a character-building experience for its participants. Per HPI, it is a program that develops talent and leadership for future champions. It also showcases HPI’s array of motorcycle technologies developed and honed on the track, eventually perfected for on-road consumer motorcycles.

Lastly, the HPDC is a sign that HPI remains committed to motorsport. The aforementioned is, of course, shown by all the training and equipment the company provides to the young one-make race competitors.

For its powerplant, the CBR150R uses a 149 cubic centimeter (cc) four-stroke, dual-overhead-cam (DOHC), liquid-cooled gasoline engine. At its maximum, this single-cylinder mill can dish out 16 horsepower and 13.7 Newton-meters of torque

Paired with the Honda CBR150R’s motor is a six-speed constant mesh transmission controlled by an assist/slipper clutch. Ride quality and nimbleness for the model are ensured by a front inverted fork and a rear Pro-Link suspension system. Stopping power, meanwhile, is provided by front and rear disc brakes.

Appearance-wise, the Honda CBR150R echoes the aggressive lines and corners of the larger CBR650R. It also has predominantly red fairings, LED headlamps with a front winker, gold-cast wheels, and a fuel capacity of 12 liters.

    • Full digital gauge meter
    • Two-channel anti-lock braking system
