Honda PH to update CB500 roster?

MANILA: Fresh from unveiling three models this month, Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI) might introduce the latest iteration of the CB500 lineup soon thereafter.

Such speculation rose after the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released documents related to the models.

Here are some bits of information about the model based on the recently-issued papers from the LTO.

Motorcycle specifications

As the papers suggest, the nameplate might come in three trims—two CB500F street-fighters, and one adventure-ready CB500X.

On paper, the aforementioned motorcycles come with the following measurements:

All three offerings are powered by twin-cylinder, 471-cubic-centimeter, Euro 4-rated, gasoline-fed engines that let the vehicles reach speeds of up to 167 kilometers per hour.

The soon-to-be-released street fighter options are fitted with two 17-inch wheels while the adventure motorcycle comes with 19- and 17-inch wheels for the front and rear, respectively.

HPI has yet to confirm details and share pricing of the forthcoming expressway-legal offerings at the time of publishing.

Upon checking the company website, it seems that the country only has the CB500 500 Hornet, which has a starting price of P379,000.

On the other hand, CB500X’s predecessor was quietly pulled out of the market after being introduced in October 2021. Back then, the motorcycle was priced at P380,000.
