Kawasaki Z900 revealed at 2016 EICMA
MANILA: Further improving the Z series, the legendary Z900 has been upgraded and revealed at the 2016 EICMA. The bike has covered a long journey and the way it looks today, it can give serious designing goals to its competitors. With aggressive styling comes advanced functionality which includes assist, and slipper clutch that makes controlling bike hassle free. Powering the Z900 is a new 948 cc inline-four cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine which is based on the elder sibling, Z1000 whose special edition was revealed globally a few days back. The engine can deliver a maximum power of 125 hp while the peak torque measures 98.6 Nm.
The features of this naked monster include 41 mm inverted fork with preload and rebound adjustment, horizontally-mounted monoshock at the rear with preload and rebound adjustment. Braking duties are taken care by Dual 300 mm disc brake with a four-piston caliper on each at the front and 250 mm rear disc with single-piston caliper. Further, they are coupled with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). The overall dimensions of the bike measure 2,070 mm in length, 820 mm in width, and 1,065 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 1,450 mm while the seat height stands at 795 mm.
The new Z900 will be available in the usual color options which include Candy Lime Green with Metallic Spark Black, Candy Plasma Blue with Metallic Graphite Gray (special edition), and Pearl Mystic Gray with Metallic Flat Spark Black. The manufacturer has not hinted towards the Philippines launch but, we hope the bike should come in the country sometime soon.
