Meet the successor of Ninja 300 revealed at Tokyo Motor Show 2017

MANILA: The entry-level Ninja has finally received its major update and now it will be offered in the international markets in the form of Ninja 400. Yes, the Japanese bike maker has unwrapped the successor of Ninja 300 at the Tokyo Motor Show 2017 which is more powerful and Euro-IV compliant.

As the name suggests, the upcoming Ninja 400 will be driven by a more powerful 399cc parallel-twin engine that pumps out a maximum power of 45 hp and a peak torque of 38 Nm. So, you get 6 hp more power and 9 Nm more torque in the all-new Ninja 400. With low-down torque into action, Kawasaki claims that the Ninja 400 offers an overall improved performance along with rider-friendly characteristics.

The other updates of the upcoming bike include new steel trellis frame that backs the engine and helps in a reduced weight of 6kg over the outgoing Ninja 300. The inclusion of assist and slipper clutch makes the gear shifting swifter, further adding to the improved riding experience. With 41mm forks, the Ninja 400 has thicker forks than the existing version. For improved braking capabilities, the all-new Ninja 400 gets a 300mm disc at the front which is further supported by Nissin ABS in an effective manner.

In order to get improved wind protection, the Kawasaki engineers have done ‘large-volume bodywork’ and included H2 inspired ‘chin-spoilers’ just below the twin LED headlamps. Even the instrument cluster of the bike is inspired by the elder sibling, the Ninja 650. Although Kawasaki has not revealed its launch details in the international market, we can expect it to hit the markets by early 2018. We also have to wait for the pricing details but, for the local market, it might be priced around Php 2,90,000. Let’s see when we get to have our hands on the latest offering of Kawasaki.
