MANILA: Takeshi Kobayashi has stepped up as the new President of Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI). He replaces Sayaka Arai, who has led the Japanese marque’s local arm since 2023.

“We will continue to create quality products and elevate every Honda experience from motorcycles, power products, and aftersales. We are focusing on 1 million sales, expanding our 3S shop network, growing our dealership network, enhancing the productivity of HPI and our dealer operations,” Kobayashi said.
Under the helm of Arai, the outgoing HPI president, the company has achieved significant milestones, including its 10 millionth unit sold, which was commemorated last year. The company also reached its eighth millionth unit produced locally on April 27, 2024. In both instances, the Honda model that managed to reach the landmark figures is the Honda Click125.
Through the outgoing HPI president’s leadership, the company likewise saw the continued efforts of the Honda Road Safety Summit, several road safety initiatives with Honda Foundation Incorporated, as well as its participation in major industry events such as the Makina Moto Expo.
During her time as president, Arai also led the company in introducing numerous motorcycle models for the local market. Some of the aforementioned include the following:

The next-generation Honda PCX160 in the Philippine market is available in two different trims: the entry-level Standard priced at P133,400, and the top-spec RoadSync, which retails at P154,900.
Notable features of the newly launched scooter include a USB Type-C charging port, a passing light switch, a 30-liter underseat compartment, cast wheels (14-inch front, 13-inch rear), a Smart key system, and rear suspension with sub-tank (RoadSync) - among others.
