Yamaha Motor’s new all-electric painting production line is located in its Iwata Main Factory facility. What are the advantages of an all-electric painting production line?
All-electric painting production lines have improved efficiency, less carbon emissions, and faster production turnout. The said painting production line officially began churning out motorcycle fuel tanks on February 20, and instead of depending on fossil fuels for work processes, it uses electricity. Per Yamaha Motor, it is the first of its kind in the global motorcycle industry.
As further explained by the Japanese marque, the typical painting production line heavily relies on fossil fuels for numerous processes. Examples cited by Yamaha include the following:
- Heating paint
- Achieving optimal temperature for paint booth
- Achieving optimal humidity for paint booth
- Baking and heating for painted products
For all the aforementioned, the Yamaha Iawata Main Factory CN1 painting production line uses electricity, which is seen to reduce significantly the said facility’s overall carbon emissions.
Additionally, the new all-electric production line simplifies the preparation process for applying paint, leading to shorter production times. Eschewing the use of fossil fuels, the brand shared, also makes for a more comfortable working environment for its paint production line employees.
