Yamaha to showcase automated transport, production solutions at 2023 International Robot Exhibition

MANILA: Yamaha Motor will be joining the world’s biggest robot trade show, the 2023 International Robot Exhibition, that will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight in Japan on November 29 to December 2.

With the theme “μ to km (microns to kilometers): Robotics Transportation,” Yamaha’s exhibition will feature a wide range of automated transport and production solutions.

Among the production solutions that will be displayed is the Yamaha Total Solution Line Demonstration Machine which is based on a next-generation transport platform called LCMR200 Linear Conveyor Module that combines speed, circulation, and diversification to significantly boost line productivity. It will be integrated with other Yamaha products such as pick and place robots, single-axis robots, Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arms (SCARA), and robot vision cameras.

The SCARA Robot Parts Feeder Demonstration Machine will also be exhibited at the event. This demonstration device combines the arc tracking feature of the RCXiVY2+ Yamaha Robot Vision with rotating parts feeder and vibrating parts feeder.

Yamaha will also showcase the YK-XEC Series SCARA Robot Clean Type at the exhibition. Clean SCARA robots are designed for pharmaceutical and food manufacturing facilities as they achieve high speed and low cost. A demonstration of the operation will be performed at Yamaha’s booth at the event.

COW-el automated transport machines will also be present at the exhibition. Available in two series, the AGV and the AMR, COW-el machines achieve high versatility when combined with various modules. Yamaha’s booth at the event will feature a collaborative robot with Toughness AGV that has high environmental resistance, a quiet and compact AMR, and a washable AGV. Since the COW-el can be adapted to a wide range of environments depending on the combination, it is expected to be used in different situations, not just in factories.

Yamaha will also bring the FG-01 EV, an autonomous, automated transportation machine that can be used in outdoor settings with wind and rain, and can navigate stairs and slopes. Its development was based Yamaha's land vehicles, which have a history spanning almost 50 years. This machine will be used on factory sites to ensure safety among workers.

Other innovative production solutions that will be displayed at Yamaha's booth at this year’s International Robot Exhibition are surface mounters and seven-axis collaborative robots.
