A good EV for short-distance commutes

I leased the Mercedes-Benz EQE as my first-ever EV. As a tech lover, I’m proud to say that this car has hit almost every mark. It comes with premium materials, seamless controls, and AI-assisted route planning. The interior feels better built than most rivals. But after spending eight months, I began tracking the drop in the projected range. In the first week from 278 miles, it hovered closer to 240 around the eighth month, and now even with conservative driving hovers around 235–240. If you have access to home charging and you’re commuting short distances, the EQE shines. But long-range performance is not that good.
