List shows growing popularity of EVs among motorists

ELECTRIA: Zigwheels PH top 10 EVs for 2025

With electric vehicles (EV) growing in popularity among Filipino enthusiasts, it’s only normal to see many of our site visitors browsing through various models that use electric power.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • From what brands do the entries from the list come from?

The top 10 most-viewed EVs on Zighwheels PH's website are from brands like Omoda, Jaecoo, BYD, and Tesla.
  • What is the price range of these EVs?

These EVs cost anywhere from P745,000-P4.2 million.
  • On that note, here are the 10 most-searched EVs on our website, listed in no particular order.

    Omoda E5

The Omoda E5 was launched in the Philippines not too long ago. It is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) connected to the front wheel axle.

With a 61.06 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery, its electric powertrain makes around 201 horsepower (hp) and 340 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Without the need to combust fuel, the Omoda E5 zooms from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 7.2 seconds.

Range-wise, it promises up to 430 kilometers (km) of driving before needing to be plugged in.

It will set car buyers back some P1.499 million.

    Jaecoo EJ6

Omoda’s sister company Jaecoo has rolled out the EJ6, the same time it released the E5. And while they both offer a gateway to electric mobility, the former scores more points, style-wise, with its Euro-inspired design.

When it comes to performance, the Jaecoo EJ6’s range-topping all-wheel drive model uses two electric motors on each axle to send power to all four wheels. This translates to 275 horses and 385 Nm of pulling power once the accelerator is depressed.

Acceleration is faster at 6.5 seconds from zero to 100 kph with a range of approximately 421 km on a single charge, running its 69.77 kWh battery.

It is priced from P1.649 million to P1.799 million.

    VinFast VF 3

One of VinFast Philippines’ most attractive offerings is the VF 3. Thanks to its boxy exterior, it can look like an owner-type jeepney powered by electricity — with air conditioning, of course — or a vegetarian Suzuki Jimny.

Under the hood of the VinFast VF 3 is a PMSM at the rear wheel axle that makes up to 30 hp and 110 Nm of torque.

Acceleration is rated at 5.3 seconds from zero to 50 kph. Range is not disclosed, but its price is fairly appealing at P745,000.

    Geely EX5

Geely aims to make a comeback into the Philippine auto market and appeal to EV adopters with the EX5.

Propulsion comes from a PMSM at the front wheels and generates an impressive 214 hp and 320 Nm. Thanks to its 60.22 kWh battery, it can travel up to 490 km before it needs to be juiced up and is able to zoom from a standstill to 100 kph in 7.1 seconds.

It has a base price of P1.799 million.

    BYD Seagull

Many consider BYD to be a solid player in the local new-energy vehicle (NEV) segment with its abundant offering of EV and hybrid models, as well as its promise of power to its customers by building a network of charging stations.

Benefiting from the said infrastructure network is the BYD Seagull, a model that has become the entry point for many EV enthusiasts — making it somewhat the Toyota Wigo of the EV segment.

Power comes from a PMSM delivering movement to the front wheels. It makes a humble 73 hp and 135 Nm, although the above numbers are just right for city crawling.

With its 30 kWh Blade battery, it is able to achieve a 300 km range with just a single charge. Acceleration speed is some 4.9 seconds from zero to 50 kph — pretty decent.

    Price begins at P898,000.

    Other stories:

    BYD Atto 3

Those who want to cover longer distances, haul more people or cargo, and even make a more lasting road impression, should consider the BYD Atto 3.

With the aforementioned likely drawing website visitors to check the EV out, it further wows hopeful car buyers with its 201 horses and 310 Nm — provided by the PMSM at the front wheel axle.

Range-wise, it does up to 410 km thanks to the larger 49.9 kWh Blade battery. Acceleration happens in 7.3 seconds from a full stop to 100 km.

Its base price is at P1.598 million.

    Jetour Ice Cream

Those who need an EV to go around their subdivision, maybe run some errands to the nearby mall, would likely pick the Jetour Ice Cream.

Cute on the outside, the all-electric mini mover uses an electric motor to produce 27 hp and 85 Nm. Range is rated at 170 km, thanks to its 13.9 kWh battery.

Price is P699,000 on our website.

    Zeekr 001

For the uninitiated, the Zeekr brand is the Geely Group’s premium electric car brand. That said, the models that are offered by the marque are positioned as upmarket cars, which is the case with the 001.

The premium shooting brake’s top-of-the-line model uses a high-performance PMSM drive system and sends propulsion to all four wheels. Maximum power is at 536 hp, and peak torque is 686 Nm.

With a 100 kWh battery, it has an estimated range of 580 km.

Those wanting to drive the Zeekr 001 home can expect to pay from P3.625 million to P4.2 million (pricing from our website).

    Tesla Model Y

Tesla launched the Model Y in the country early this year. The sleek electric midsize sport utility vehicle can be had in either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive configuration. The latter is fitted with dual motors that generate a top speed of 201 kph and an acceleration speed of 4.8 seconds from zero to 100 kph.

Range-wise, it does some 600 km on a single charge.

The Tesla Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive model costs P2.689 million.

    BYD Dolphin

The BYD Dolphin was one of the first few models offered by the carmaker in the Philippines before its salvo of releases a few years back.

On that note, it has modest looks and capabilities, but still has what it takes to move people from point A to point B, using only electricity. Power is delivered using a PMSM at the front wheel axle that produces some 93 horsepower and 180 Nm.

It packs a 44.9 kWh battery that offers 405 km of driving range and an acceleration speed of 3.9 seconds from zero to 50 kmph.

Price-wise, it sells for P1.398 million.
