The second round of the 2024 Eneos Super Sprint series will take place on March 17.Held at the Parklinks in Quezon City, the event — for the first time — included a dedicated ladies class. Racers stormed the venue to test their skill and their machine against the short yet challenging track.
Eneos Philippines (ENEPH) — the title sponsor for the 2024 season — shared that the top honors went to Prepped Class driver Iñigo Anton on a Mazda MX-5 RF who had the fastest time of 51.562 seconds. Other notables are Chad Lazaro from the Intermediate Class clocking in at 56.671 seconds in his BMW 3-series, Irwin Eugene Viray from the Amateur Class with a 57.645-second finish in his Toyota RAV4, and Street Class driver Jan Sulit aboard a Toyota Wigo with a time of 59.374 seconds.
The fastest female in the event was Christine Torres finishing the track in her Honda hatchback with a time of 62.342 seconds. Aside from the honors, winners each received their respective merchandise from ENEPH.
“Congratulations to all the winners and to all the participants as well. Hats off to GMET Events for a very successful hosting and I believe we achieved our mutual objective of promoting safety not just in motorsports but in everyday driving situations. We look forward to seeing more participants and more spectators in the coming rounds,” ENEPH President Kazumasa Imai said.
The Super Sprint series is a timed competition where drivers navigate one at a time through a defined course geared towards beginner to intermediate drivers.
According to Imai, the Japanese oil marque has signed up to become the event’s title sponsor — serving as a testament to its commitment to the Philippine market that it considered to be a major growth market for its lubricants business.
“We are thrilled at the opportunity to promote the Eneos brand and technology through this very established and well-organized event and we take seriously our role in helping develop the local motorsport industry,” ENEPH President Kazumasa Imai said.
“Our passion for racing pushes us to develop breakthrough products that provide maximum power and exceptional protection for all motor vehicles,” he added.
The next round will be on March 17 still at Parklinks, Quezon City. Those who will be at the venue may avail the special 20-percent discount for all its products.
