2017 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron Revealed

MANILA: Just like any other prominent automaker, this German automaker is also on a spree of upgrading its line-up. Last month, the RS 3 was spied testing on the roads of Nurburgring and now Audi has finally revealed the details of its 2017 A3 Sportback e-tron model, which has been upgraded to deliver even better performance. The officials informed that Audi is about to introduce 20 new models globally and the revelation of A3 Sportback is yet another step towards completing the said target.

Considering the changes that A3 Sportback e-tron is bestowed with, one can notice updated front fascia which has been tweaked a bit for more sporty look. The front now features new LED daytime running lights (DRLs), tweaked headlights and wide horizontal grille with company’s insignia. The rear has been also revised a bit and these revisions can be witnessed on the bumper and taillights. The unique body styling with e-tron Sport package further gives a distinct identity to this sportback from the rest of the A3 model line-up. The other factors which differentiate this A3 from the others in the pool are, 18-inch, 15-spoke Turbine-design with all-season tires, and S line roof spoiler.

In the cabin one would find 3-spoke, flat bottom multifunction steering wheel, shift paddles,and front sport seats. The four driving modes which are the key highlight of A3 Sportback lets you manage the vehicle’s electric range according to the diversified needs. The hybrid mode is intelligently designed to choose the best driving mode by analyzing the speed and performance demand, and further switching to the appropriate mode. Audi has set new features for 2017 A3 Sportback e-tron and these include panoramic sunroof, reverse camera, driver assist systems and smartphone integration along with Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto additional options.

Under the hood, there are no significant changes and the new sportback will feature 1.4-litre TFSI inline-four cylinder engine, which is further coupled to a magnet- driven electric motor. The combined power output measures 207 PS and peak torque counts to 350 Nm. With the electric motor the range of A3 counts to 50 km. Further, clocking 100 kmph mark from naught will take approximately 7.8 seconds while the top speed will count to 222 kmph.
