2017 Honda NSX to Receive State-of-the Art Assembly In April

MANILA: Although the production for the 2017 Honda NSX has been shrouded in the mist for the past 6 months, it seems that the manufacturers were simply taking this time to switch their production base. According to the latest reveal, Honda’s flagship 2-seater sports car will not be produced in their homeland but at the new facility situated in Ohio. Named as Honda Performance Manufacturing Center, the newly setup factory is known for using some of the most advanced automobile production technology known to mankind.

Unlike most automated assembly plants, the Honda PMC uses a well-balanced blend of human and automated workforce to achieve high precision in automobile manufacturing. Since they’re producing one of the most high-performance vehicles in Honda’s fleet, the manufacturers have also applied for around 12 patents for the various innovative technologies that are included in the next-generation NSX. The engine however, will be a hand built one that will be done at a separate workshop in Anna. Reportedly, this engine will be a different one than the previous V6+electric motor drivetrain and is speculated to significantly improve the output to a monstrous 580 hp.

The other new features of the 2017 Honda NSX have also been revealed to be a brand new frame that has been welded without the use of any human aid. It will also include wireless torque wrenches, high precision brakes and several other technologies that will come into light once the production vehicle is built. The 9-speed automatic transmission is carried over from its 2016 predecessor and will be offered in a total of three trim levels. Not many people know Honda’s reputation for making some of the most advanced automobiles due to their prominence in the mass market segments. But with the latest NSX, Honda Motors will certainly try to change its reputation and battle the latest Nissan GT-R.
