2018 Hyundai Grand Starex GLS available in the Philippines

MANILA: 2018 Grand Starex GLS has landed on the Philippines soil in its new facelifted form. This refreshed and remodelled version of the vehicle features a more chiselled frontal part, sleeker finish, and more spacious and sophisticated cabin.

The 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex GLS will derive its power from the 2.5-litre CRDi inline-four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. This mill is capable of churning out 170 PS of power at 3,600 rpm and a peak torque reading 442 Nm from 2,000 to 2,250 rpm. The GLS trim features a single transmission option, that is, a five-speed automatic with manual select.

The all-new Grand Starex, from the popular people carrier arena, comes with an enhanced version of its external appearance. Sleeker horizontal units replace the raised vertically designed headlights, a newly framed front Cascading grille, and slightly sharpened and altered headlamps. When it comes to size, the vehicle measures 5,150 mm in length, is 1,920 mm wide and 1,925 mm high besides having a 3,200 mm wheelbase. The upper ranging GLS bears these enhanced alterations externally only, while the GL and GL 18 models continue to portray the same styling and external design.

The 2018 Grand Starex GLS features swivel seats for the middle row and the cabin has been designed to be more spacious. The top-ranger GLS car interior comes designed with a leather-enveloped steering wheel, manually-operated air-conditioning for both the rear and front, 1-DIN sound system paired with FM/AM radio, USB, CD and Aux-in as well as a digital multi-info display. An enhanced instrument gauge set and remodelled gear lever succeeded in infusing a high-tech look to the car dashboard. Standard Grand Starex models can be spotted retaining the present layout.

Safety aspects of the car also received considerable attention, as certain relevant incorporations have been made to this facelifted version. In the list are included features like Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), reverse parking sensors, electronic stability (ESP), dual front supplemental restraint system (SRS) airbags, keyless entry with alarm, etc. The car comes tagged with a price value reading around Php 2,085,000.
