MANILA: The 2019 Hyundai Accent has arrived in ASEAN market for the first time. The country where the vehicle has appeared is none other than the Philippines. However, the vehicle has already been launched in the Western markets earlier this year.

The Philippine-spec 2019 Hyundai Accent features two engine option. The vehicle is equipped with a 1.4-litre gas engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum of 100 PS power along with a peak torque of 132 Nm. The drive is sent to the wheels by a six-speed automatic or a five-speed manual gearbox.

On the other hand, the other 1.6-litre CRDI diesel offers up to 128 PS of power and the peak torque sticks at 260 Nm. The transmission duties are done by either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual gearbox.

Speaking of the looks, the model resembles the one that was displayed at the KLIMS (Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show) 2018. The vehicle has given a 'mini-Elantra' design. The dramatic curves and sweeps are crafted all over the body. It is equipped with the trademark Y-shaped grille and the upswept headlights are more aggressively designed.

Coming to the side profile, the car comes with a bold character line and the window line is moved slightly higher. It has a rounded off bumper at the rear and the tail lights are slim and wrap-around.

The cabin of the 2019 Hyundai Accent has almost a new makeover. The layout of the dashboard looks very similar to that of the Elantra. The radio is positioned a little higher, which results in a good amount of free space on the centre console. The air conditioning vents for the rear models are standard across all the variants. The steering wheel is now thicker and has a new multi-information display behind it.
