4 reasons why the VinFast VF MPV 7 is the sweet spot for Filipino families

MANILA: VinFast Philippines has already expanded its lineup with the VF MPV 7 - a well-equipped ride that is suitable for up to seven occupants.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How much horsepower and torque can the VinFast VF MPV 7 produce?

The VinFast VF MPV 7 can produce up to 201 horsepower and 280 Newton-meters of torque.
  • What is the range of the VinFast VF MPV 7?

The VinFast VF MPV 7 can cover up to 450 kilometers from a single full charge.
  • However, some may say that the Limo Green fits the bill as well, so why is the VF MPV 7 considered more suitable as a family-friendly chariot?

Well, there are a few reasons for this, and VinFast’s local arm itself shared the four biggest ones with Zigwheels Philippines. And now, we’re sharing it with our readers who might be one of the many who are considering jumping into the world of electrified mobility together with their entire family.

SUV power in an MPV package

Typically, sport utility vehicles (SUV) have more horsepower and torque compared to most multi-purpose vehicles (MPV). Examples of this include the Toyota Fortuner, which is significantly peppier than its MPV platform sibling, the Toyota Innova

This, however, isn’t the case with the Vinfast VF MPV 7 as its was actually tuned to be a match against mainstream turbodiesel SUV models sold in the market right now.

For reference, the all-new VinFast three-row ride’s electric motor can generate up to 201 horsepower (hp) and 280 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Sure, it doesn’t have as much torque as its diesel-powered competitors, but as an electric vehicle (EV), the VF MPV 7 has an edge because its peak torque can be tapped instantly.

The aforementioned is, of course, a highly useful characteristic for a sizeable vehicle such as the VF MPV 7. It will make overtaking a breeze, and in some cases, it can make driving pleasurable as well.

Beyond power, the VinFast VF MPV 7 can cover up to 450 kilometers (km) on a single full charge, according to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). That kind of range is more than enough for a few days' worth of driving one’s kids to school, going to the office, and vice versa. It can even be enough for out-of-town trips if one’s route has EV charging stations.

Notably, the VinFast VF MPV 7 uses a 60-kilowatt-hour battery that can be charged via a direct current (DC) port. If charged via its DC port, it can increase its battery level from 10-70 percent in just 30 minutes. The aforementioned goes on top of the model’s regenerative braking system and its power-managing drive mode selector.

    Bigger car, reasonable price

Another reason why the VinFast VF MPV 7 is the ideal car for Filipino families is its three-row, seven-seater arrangement. And yes, this model is a real seven-seater as its rear-most seat is more than just an afterthought - it was actually designed to fit three adult-sized humans abreast with some room to spare.

These roomy qualities of the VinFast VF MPV 7 are thanks to its hefty size, which measures 4,740 millimeters (mm) long, 1,872 mm wide, and 1,734 mm in height.

Those dimensions place the VinFast VF MPV 7 as a slightly larger ride compared to the Toyota Innova, and even moreso than other unibody MPV nameplates like the Toyota Avanza and Suzuki Ertiga.

Having a generous amount of space inside the VF MPV 7, of course, also means that it has ample room for elbows, heads, and legs for all seven of its occupants. Furthermore, it also has a maximum cargo capacity of 1,240 liters (third and second rows folded down), making it capable of hauling plenty of stuff like sports equipment, household-related knick-knacks (groceries or laundy), or camping equipment for those people who like to go on outdoor adventures.

Despite its apparent roominess, the VinFast VF MPV 7 remains very accessible in terms of price. For reference, the mode, if purchased with the company’s battery subscription, will only cost P1.239 million.

The said price makes the VinFast VF MPV 7 one of the most affordable all-electric three-row rides in the market right now.

Additionally, the model comes with strong warranties: a 10-year or 200,000-km battery warranty (whichever comes first) and a seven-year or 160,000-km bumper-to-bumper warranty (whichever comes first). These add significant value to every buyer of the VF MPV 7 and help avoid potential ownership headaches in the long run as well.

    Lower monthly costs

Even among middle-class and upper-middle-class Filipino families, the “tipid” game runs strong. Every day, fathers and mothers try their hardest to save money by getting the most out of everything they purchase.

In this regard, the VinFast VF MPV 7 is definitely a winner as it has a claimed monthly operating cost of virtually zero. Why? Well, VinFast, after all, is offering free charging at V-Green stations until March 2029.

And of course, this goes on top of the fact that EV models, in general, tend to require less upkeep and maintenance than internal combustion cars. In fact, they don’t need the relatively frequent oil change sessions fossil fuel models need to stay in tip-top shape. They don’t need emissions checks, no need for spark plug replacements, and they even have reduced brake wear due to the car’s regenerative braking system.

    Plenty of creature comforts

Comfort for the family is a must-have for a family-friendly car. That’s why the VinFast VF MPV 7 was kitted out with plenty of amenities, chief of which are leather upholstered seats and automatic air-conditioning.

Furthermore, the model comes standard with power-adjustable front seats and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

    Final thoughts

So, there you have it, the four biggest reasons why the VinFast VF MPV 7 is the sweet spot Filipino families have been waiting for. It is affordable, roomy, and comfortable, and it can match any fossil-fuel MPV or SUV in performance.
